Fuel+Spark=not running

okay, so my engine is now turning over, but still not running. i pulled one of the plugs and bumped the engine while it was out. it sparked. while i had the engine out of the car a dirt dobber built a nest in the fuel line, but ill deal with that later. it should still run by pouring gas into the carb. well i bumped the engine again, pulled one of the plugs and it smelled of gas, that tells me its getting fuel. so why is it not running?:banghead My timing is probably off, but shouldnt it still run? please help.

Why do you think timing is off? was something else done? I would definitly start there though as fuel spark and air and you should run. If timing is that far off it will never start
