I have the heater box out of my 65 Bird for repairs, and have several questions. First, the fresh air inlet duct rubber is completely rotted out. How do you install it when you put the heater box back in?

Second, the previous owner disconnected a number of the vacuum lines. Is there a detailed guide available somewhere? The shop manual is very vague. I'm looking for something that actually shows the equipment and hoses rather than a pure schematic.

Thanks for the tip Terry. I spoke with John and he suggested several books that would help. I ordered them last week and should have them soon. Disassembling the dash on a 65 Tbird is a rather complicated project - and then you have to put it back together when the repairs are done!

Removing the dash is complicated, but not really too difficult. Just a whole bunch of miserable little jobs, one after another.
The first thing to do is remove the seats, not hard. Four studs come through the floor and as long as someone hasn't undercoated the nuts too much, you don't even have to jack the car up. Good idea to take out the rear bottom as well.
Good luck
Terry
