I have a 1960 T Bird Coupe that according to the data plate should be a 352 V8. The engine had been replaced at some point but the previous owner could only tell me its an intercepter. The expansion tank on the engine looks like a 65 or 66 style. Do I need to pull the starter to find the casting numbers?

What kind of number would you expect to find or be looking for after you pull the starter?
Could we see a photo or could you give more of a description of the engine?

I was informed the casting date was located there. I just wanted to know engine size. The firing order is 15426378. There's an autolite 2100 carb. on top. The throttle linkage and gas pedal are newer type from 70's.

Autolite 2100 would NOT be original for 1960 T-Bird. The casting number on the intake manifold would be helpful as far as year goes. Displacement? I would expect 390.

The intake manifold has a 1966 casting. I suspect its a 390. I did replace the alternator which is also not a 1960 item. The engine runs good. This car is going to be restored but have'nt decided whether to go all original or some modern updates.
