does anyone have a problem with their digital controls not working? mine will power on and apear to work but the blower wont activate. could it be that the blower is bad or a bad fuse maybe? thanks

HI there, I can't tell you much about function or troubleshooting but I have all the parts you might need. I parted out a Turbo Coupe and kept all of that stuff. If you do trace it to a bad component let me know. The first place to start will be the fuse box or possibly a relay. Do you have a repair manual for the car? The Haynes books are excellent and have pretty good troubleshooting sections and detailed explanations. They tear down the whole car and put it back together and then write a book. If you can find the blower input lead, you could unplug it and try connecting direct power to it to see if it will spin, has it made any noise? Generally if the blower itself goes out it will do so over time by growling or squeeling and slowing down over time and finally stopping all together and then popping a fuse. It could very well be the controller but a good manual is probably your cheapest investment at this point. Good Luck

well thank you, I will do some things and try to pin point the problem I have had the car for almost a year and havent done much with it. sad huh oh well I'll get to it.. well if it is the blower I need to change the heater core anyways so that wouldnt be so bad. thank you I will keep you updated on what I find. There is a box called"Blower Motor Speed Control" that provides a ground for the heater motor. Check fuse #9 and #17. I have a procedure to test it but it is 3 pages long and I do not type that well. [email protected] and I can e-mail you a copy.

well I found the problem of why the blower wouldnt work, #9 fuse had a 3 amp fuse in it and it was blown so I replaced it with the 30 amp now the blower works but has no speed control #17 will be checked tomorrow. if you would like to email your method to me my email is [email protected] thanks Graham
