bendix starter drive

How can I stop my starter drive from slightly hitting the ring gear when my car is on any down hill slope.

It makes a tinkling sound, and is very embarrassing .

I've replaced with a new Standard brand ( 90 Dollars ) drive but it still makes the same noise.
