By mistake a couple of days ago an associate of mine attahed the pos cable to the neg and neg to positive on my stock 66 bird with a stock 390. I corrected the problem quickly but couldnt get the battery to take a charge. I bought a new battery and put it in yesterday and this morning its drained. I have beedn having trouble with my starter, it lugs sometime, and the other day had to let it cool off to start at all. Could a bad starter cause the batt to drain? Could I have fried something when the cables were hooked up incorrectly? Alt? Regulator? Solinoid? Please help!

I would remove the battery from the car and charge it. Then install and check for a battery drain. Yes, the alternator could be shot. Maybe the voltage regulator. Let you associate check it out!!
