i have a 66 coupe with a cruise o matic. previous owner(s) cut a bunch of the wiring, so im having to trudge thru it, and need some help.
first, i cant find the plug that goes to the neutral safety switch on the column. i found a plug that apprears to have thr red blue red and black red wires for the nss itself, but the plug is 4 females with two beside loe and one on top of the other high, instead of a square plug like it appears the switch needs. am i missing a pigtail that goes between the odd shaped plug and the nss? if not any idea where this plug is? the dash is apart, so i need somr refernce point to start from, like the lite switch or the ignition switch, or the brake switch. have not idd any of the other gazillion wires yet!

Do you have a electrical manual for your car.?
In mine, it shows the connector that plugs into the switch has two wires one wire(red/blue) coming from the starter relay into the connector and the same color going out of the connector to the main disconnect.
The switch itself has only one wire coming out (black/red) that connects to a square connector that has 7 female, and one male terminal on it.
Hope this helps.
Bob.

You may be looking at the plug for the fender mounted indicator lights. That plug should plug right into a relay. The plug for the NSS is square. I'll take a look at my early 66 tomorrow and find out where it comes from. BTW Red bird do you have C-6 or cruise-o-matic in your 66?

Just looked at my early 66 with cruise. The NSS wire starting at the switch is by itself 4 wires. from switch runs through firewall to the left and just below steering column. Then runs along top of fender apron and connects to harness near radiator. Two black/orange and two red/blue if my old eyes are good.

BTW, the other plug you have is not for the indicators. Don't know what at this point, Must plug into a relay some where
