I have a partially restored 61 that I bought from an estate sale and am getting ready to strip the body down to go on a rotisserie. Wondering if its worth the effort to unbolt the apron assembly from the cowl. Is this assembly a bear to realign or is it a simple bolt up? I haven't been able to find any reference to this in my research.

Bulletbird I'm assuming your refering to the fact that a 61 and 62 front clip unbolts at the firewall where as 63's have the front clip welded on . Personnaly unless your front clip is really badly rusted I wouldn't touch it . If it's mounted on a rotisserie it should be able to be cleanned down to bare metal fairly easy with whatever cleaning media you use . My thoughts anyway , Ian

Thanks Ian for the clarification on the 61-2 vs 63. Everything I read references the assemblies being welded. With the bolts on mine I thought there had to be a manufacturing change at some point. I may take it off just for the extra floor space in the shop. The prior owner had already overhauled the motor, tranny and cleaned up the apron assembly, so I could build a dolly and take it all out in one piece.
