When you get around to putting the manifolds back on, take a good look at the heat riser on the passenger side manifold. They have a tendancy to stick closed, causing overheating problems. They need to be constantly freed up with a high temperature lube like Jigaloo Extreme Graphite (in a green spray bomb). Some guys even gut the heat riser, taking out the round butterfly valve, but leaving the control rod in place with the spring. It looks stock at a car show, but won't ever cause any problems.

Am I guessing correctly that you do not have a shop manual? You should get one!~
The tool to remove the power steering pulley is a one half inch box end wrench. Then the pulley slides off the shaft.

i have the manual. from what i recall, it says "remove the pulley", but not "how". :) i'll probably order p/s or p/b repar kit this week
over the weekend i was able to get intake manifold and one of the heads off. may get the other head off tonight.

finished taking pistons out last night.
not sure how i will get crankshaft out because i don't have the tool for removing the pulleys in front of harmonic balancer.
engine is pretty clean inside. no critter surprises, and bearings and journals are in decent shape.
