Hi, Decided to clean my chrome radiator shroud and replace the top seal to the radiator. The seal came today, much different than the existing. The replacement is flat on top with ribs on the bottom, the old one is "T" shaped. Could it be that the chrome unit came with a different seal? Don't want to install the wrong seal with so many overheating problems in discussion. Thanks, Bill

Obviously the chrome radiator shroud is not stock, and maybe the seal isn't either. Is the seal stapled to the fan shroud, or glued? My car is in storage and I'm trying to recall from memory, but I'm almost certain it is stapled. Regardless, unless you are going for a show car presentation, use the new seal. The only people who'll know will be someone who restores baby birds for a living, or the owner of a concours correct bird that did it himself.

Hi, Installed the seal..taped it on and used a small drill bit to align the staple holes to the rubber. While I was at it, I painted the lower shroud, radiator and shock towers. The bird came with a chrome air cleaner top and fan shroud top, always thought it was a factory dress-up kit. My next job is to take the contentential kit off and figure out why it's so loose. Thanks for the info, Bill
