My 55 is just about done and I have a concern about the tailpipes, where they exit the bumperettes. All exhaust hangers are new and firmly attached. The hanger attachments inside of the rear bumperettes are new as well, but there is a space between each of the 3 metal tabs that centre (Canadian spelling of center, the school teacher in me coming out) the tail pipe in the opening of the bumperette. If I grab the end of the tailpipe I can rock it from side to side and up and down a small amount. Doing so makes a rather loud clunk that I'm afraid will also occur if I drive too quickly over railroad tracks or potholes. Am I correct, or is this not something that will happen? Is there a fix? I wondered about bending the ends of the hanger tabs to make them touch the tailpipe and get rid of the slack. Any thoughts? Many thanks!
