4 Gear Transmission

Hi. My 1955 TBird has a manual 4 Gear Transmission. I always read that this model normally has a 3 gear manual transmission with overdrive.

Have I been fooled by the seller? Is this a non-original transmission?

Four forward gears? If so, its not original, probably a Top loader or a T-10

They had 3 speeds with and without O/D
