4.6L mod limits???

Hey guys, my gf just told me she wants to start making her 94 tbird faster. She has the 4.6L engine in it right now, and no mods. So I was wondering what the limits are with the engine and transmission? Is there a certain hp that people start breaking things at? What are some common free/cheap upgrades to do? What parts can be swapped from other cars for performance? What are the best bang for the buck mods?

Sorry if some of these questions are lame, but im new to these cars. I have a Grand Prix that I play with and there is plenty of resources on mod writeups and engine tear downs. But I dont see much for these cars. What are the best aftermarket vendors for this car? Thanx for your help guys.

Best bang for the buck mods.

1. Remove air silencer underneath filter box.

2. Replace stock intake tube with a RichardM tube, or a Homemade one made out of 3" duct.

4. Install a Lightning Maf and 99+ Mustang GT airbox

Worst bang for the buck:

1. K & N Filter, which will do nothing to add power or performance.

2. Any aftermarket spark plugs, plug wires, or ignition parts. No gain on a stock engine.

Recommended mod's to tranny.

1. Update 1-2 springs and accumualtors.
2. updated 2-3 springs and accumulators.
3. 96 or newer deep sump tranny fluid pan and filter
4. Auxillary tranny cooler.
5. Flush out all tranny fluid, and switch over to MerconV
