I have a dearly loved 1983 baby blue Aerobird that I just can't take care of any longer. It has always been in the family and ran well until Monday when the front end had a major problem (rusted support thingy broke, can get details from my mechanic what's needed to repair). It was a dealer's demo and has every bell and whistle Ford offered for the Aerobird- geriatric but still talks!
Knowing how hard it is to get parts, I'd like to donate it to another Aerobird enthusiast or a Tbird parts supplier-I would hate very much to have it crushed as scrap. 154k original miles. Body in fair shape, has been well maintained but starting to show it's age (especially given the salty air here) Good restoration potential.
You'd need to tow it or replace the problem parts (was quoted $1400 including labor, $800 for the parts) and drive it away.
