Hello All

Looking to replace the bulbs in the rear interior dome lights (in rear side headliner left and right locations) which are not currently working. Cannot find anything in the shop manual and looking at them, I do not see any slots or way of unscrewing the chrome ring retainers or a way to remove the plastic covers. I do not want to bugger them or the headliner trying. Anyone done this before and have any tips?

Much Appreciated!
Randy

bulb replacement

I have no idea but try this website Thunderbird Ranch . Try sending him an email as he has a lot of junkers and has probably done this. I am guessing squeezing the plastice some but understand this is dicey with 50 year old plastic.

Hi....problem solved. Had a post on another forum that described how to carefully pry the outer chrome ring off with a putty knife or chisel. That worked. My light bulbs are replaced and all is well! Thanks for the link regardless.

Thanks for the info. After I sent you the link, I looked at mine and knew that removing/squeezing the plastic dome would not work. Saw your 65, nice. Mine is about the same color but white interior.

Thanks ...she is a 64 actually. Will be painting her the original colour ...silver blue mink in the winter/spring...to match original interior.
