    New Rims

Thanks guys for the info. Much appreciated. I'm comfortable with the 15x8 rim size which will still accommodate a 225 (8.8 inch width) tire according to spec. I like the look of my existing tires (225), just wanted to go with a wider stance. The 235 mm has a 9.2 inch width.

    New Rims

I'm considering changing out my factory 15x6.5 (225/75/R15) polycast rims for a set of magnum 500's. 15x8 with a new tire 235/75/R15 WSW (if I can find a WSW in that size) I'm hoping this will give the car a wider and more aggressive stance without losing it's factory look too much. I know the...

1978 Diamond Jubilee Lighted Vanity Sun Visor

Ok, I had the kick panels off trying to figure out where the connection was coming from...lol. Not sure if the T-Bird would have the wire running even if it was not an option, as I don't have a connection at the mount. But good to know it starts from the trunk! BTW, I installed rear courtesy...

1978 Diamond Jubilee Lighted Vanity Sun Visor

Tim, Would you elaborate on the procedure to install the vanity lighted mirrors on your T-Bird? I have a passenger side lighted mirror, but not sure of where to connect. Thanks so much!

    Door Ajar

After some research, I've discovered that there is an additional switch inside the door at the locking mechanism. Makes sense, since the light should be activated when the latch is not fully closed. My guess is that one of mine is faulty...duh... Not exactly an easy fix, which is why somebody...

    Door Ajar

When I purchased my 79 T-Bird, I noticed an empty light socket hanging below the dash. The door ajar light didn't work so I put two and two together. I didn't have a bulb at that time, but last year I replaced all the dash lights with LEDs and I realized that the door ajar light will not shut...

Hi Tim, If your offer still stands on the fresh air flex hose, I'd like to get a good replacement from you. Mine is beyond repair, very brittle and too many cracks to fix properly. This may be a long shot, but I also need a seat belt timer switch. Looks like a 2 inch round cylinder with three...

    Courtesy Lights

Update Well guys, I've learned something interesting about our cars this weekend. If your car is equipped with the optional light group, which includes the following: Dual map lights, under dash, engine, trunk, glove box, ashtray lights...your pre wired for rear courtesy lights! The connection...

    Courtesy Lights

Ok, I've got a detailed wiring diagram for the entire car, so I should be able to follow...just thought I could connect to the dome light as it functions the same way. Hopefully, this won't be too complicated or someone's going to see a nice set of rear courtesy lights on eBay! Thanks...

    Courtesy Lights

Tim, I never received your message on this, so I thought I'd post new thread. I want to add rear courtesy lights to my 79, I've got the lights and wire harness that connects to the main harness along the floor. The problem is there's nothing to connect to on the main. Where do I go from here...

    Idle problem

Radiator I think your right. From what I've been reading, there is no advantage. The pro's and con's equal out for both. I think I'll stay original for as long as I can. Sent you a message, Thanks again.

Is that 3 core copper/brass radiator or aluminum? I checked mine and it looks ok, no rust or corrosion buildup. On to the heater core...

Hi Tim, I sent you a private message the other day, but I may have screwed it up. So I'm sending again, hopefully you'll receive. You seem to know a lot about these cars, so I want to ask you what you think about adding rear courtesy lights? I found a set of NOS lights and the wire harness that...

Ok, will do. Thank you! I was thinking about replacing the radiator with an all aluminum one down the road....but this should keep it running well for this season.

    Idle problem

Ok Tim, sounds good. I'll adjust the idle speed(s) and check the heater core as soon as the weather allows. I was planning to flush the radiator this year anyway, just as a regular maintenance. I'll let you know how it goes, Thank you...much appreciated!

    Idle problem

My 79 302 66K miles, seems to want to idle high...upon cold start up, which is normal, but also when warm. I need to give it a good shot of gas a few times to bring it back to low idle. Once I put in drive and go down the driveway, if I put in neutral, it goes back into a high idle. (not as high...
