My 57 with a 312V8 is cutting out on me after about 5-10 minutes and the engine just dies. I am thinking it might be the ignition system is getting hot and the coil or condensor is failing. Can someone verify this and/or offer another idea? Thanks

I had a similar issue with my 57, the temp gauge was continuously in the red. The mechanic told me it needed a resistor in the wiring and that would bring the reading down into the correct range. After he installed the resistor it looked real good, but being in Arizona I was concerned that...
