    57 Cooling

There are a number of things that have come out in the last few years or that aid in better cooling. One is the improved water pump that CASCO sells, the improved spacer and a wide mouth thermostat. All have come with good ratings. I never had a overheating problem, but have installed the...

    New Member

Welcome To be perfectly honest, I would recommend another forum. This forum. as far as the early birds are concerned, has very little activity. In fact, very little activity for the other birds from what I have seen although I do not check the other years specific postings For some one...

    1956 Driver/passenger windows needed

Try Hill's, CASCO, Prestige for the parts. Looking at the CASCO catalog, they seem to have all the parts you are looking for. I assume the other stores have them

    1955 with a 1956 body?

Nothing is impossible if you have the time, expertise and/or money to make the necessary changes. I have seen a number of 56's without the outside spare so that is not unusual. Not really sure, but I think most of the frame difference between 55 and 56 is in the rear for the continental spare...

hose coming out of the rear of intake manifold?

If it's small diameter hose it's a vacuum hose for the wipers or the heater. If a large diameter hose, for the power brakes.

Looking for a 57 manual flywheel

Check with Hill's Restorations or CASCO. They have used parts. Another possible source is a guy I know with lots of Tbird parts. Name is Adrian, phone 570-709-0823. The Tbirds used a 11 inch clutch setup. Cars used a smaller clutch. All Y Block flywheels are the same except for the holes...

    57 Tires Rubbing

all wire wheels are not the same. some have more offset or different backspacing. Another possibility is the rear is moving slightly when making a turn. Ubolts may not be tight or the front and/or rear spring bushings may be worn. Or maybe the shackles at the rear of the spring are worn.

    Considering Purchase of '57 T'Bird

Before buying any TBird, I recommend to everyone that first join a local Tbird club and get advice from members on any particular car. They can recommend different local vendors for any repairs that may be needed. Do you know any locals that have any experience with old cars (not necessarily...

    57 Tbird Stop Light Question

Can't help with that question - as it's a pressure switch, it depends at what point there is adequate pressure.

    57 Tbird Stop Light Question

The switch may be on it's way out. That's the problem with the hydraulic switches. For the average switch, it needs a lot of pressure. There are low pressure switches on the market, so look for one of these. The solution is a mechanical switch. CASCO (and I assume the other Tbird parts...

    57 Tbird Stop Light Question

The switch on a bird is always on the frame. On the sedans, the switch is attached to the master cylinder. I usually use a socket and a long extension. I've removed them from the top and underneath. Make sure that is your problem before trying to remove it. Use a piece of metal (maybe a #8...
