    steering wheel

Thanks I will give that a try. I am unable to move the turn indicator lever up and down at all. I was not aware you could see the mechanism, I thought it was inside the steering column.

    steering wheel

I have a 1964 tbird and up until about a month ago I could slide the steering wheel to the side very easily. All of a sudden I cannot push the lever and make the sw slide over. Does anybody have any suggestion as to where to start to fix this problem? Thanks Bill

    1964 power windows

Well you are right about the location, after going out 3 times and looking and finding nothing I raised up the rubber drain line and there are 2 relays underneath it. Almost impossible to get too. Hope someone knows how to check the relay without removing it.

    1964 power windows

I am having the same problem. First my horn quit working and yesterday I rolled all the windows down and went for a drive and now the windows will not go up. I have checked the fuse and it seems good. Did not know it had a relay, can someone tell me where it is located I have been unable to find it?

    Brakes

My '64 tbird is still having the problem with the brakes. I have replaced the valve on top of the vacuum booster, replaced the vacuum lines and I have good brakes when going down the road. If I come to a light and let the engine idle down and press the brake pedal it will be hard as if I have no...

    Outside Mirrors

mirror placement I have a 1964 tbird convertible and when you open the vents on either side the mirror does not interfere with the vent. The drivers side mirror is adjustable from the inside and I assume it is factory.

    Speedometer and gauges dont work.

I would try the sender in the gas tank. I replaced one on my 60 tbird and you would not believe how bad a shape it was in. I have not had trouble with my '64 tbird yet but if I do I will start with the sender in the tank.

    1964 power brakes

I think I have cured the problem. I researched on the net and read that brake fluid is good to redo the flexibility of rubber. I suspected the check valve was the problem and put some brake fluid on the check valve where it makes contact on the booster. I have not had the problem again and have...

My 1964 Thunderbird for some reason has decided to not have power brakes every now and then. It will have power and the next time it will not have power brakes. I replaced one of the vacuum hoses that went to the transmission but it mad no difference. Does anybody have any idea where to start...

    throttle linkage springs

I finally found where the spring hooks. You need three arms to hook it up though. I can't see the bracket I can only feel that it is there. Thanks for all the help.

    throttle linkage springs

I have a 1964 Thunderbird that I had the transmission overhauled and now the gas pedal seems harder to depress than before. Does anyone have a picture of the correct placement of the two springs? I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot come up with a picture that shows this.

    steering

I am getting used to the steering and I think it is just more control than I am used too. It runs straight down the road but it is a lot more sensitive than any of my new automobiles. It is very easy to turn a corner or make a u turn. You can do that with one finger and I have not had a car in...

    Custom Auto Sound

I just finished installing a Custom Auto Sound model 630 with a flash drive in my 1964 Thunderbird. I read so many bad reviews on this company that at first I hesitated but I am very glad I purchased it. It has a great sound and I used the Custom Auto Sound speaker with dual voice coils for the...

    steering

I just bought a '64 tbird convertible and the steering is extremely sensitive. I just wonder if this is normal or if there is an adjustment on it? It drives fine and holds the road well but if you just barley touch the steering wheel it moves fast.
