    Thanks for the idea, but the engine was cast in Detroit Iron Foundry. Canadian engines were a kind of silver from Windsor I think.

    I posted elsewhere but I thought I would try here. We are rebuilding my engine from my 65 and were planning on painting it black but once we had the engine out and looking at all of it closely...it is painted gold...a bit different than the valve covers and air but there is no doubt it is not...
