    Wheel Spacing

Yes, they were for the '63. The were given to me and I thought they would look ok on the Tbird but a trial fit on the front has them dragging on the upper ball joint. 17" wheels probably wouldn't but I'm not buying new wheels right now. I was just hoping they would fit with possibly spacers...

    Wheel Spacing

I was just given a set of these wheels and was wondering what everyone else has used to offset the depth of the wheel and what it entails. These are 1999-2001 15" Mustang aluminum wheels. The bolt pattern lines up but the wheel is too deep and drags on the ball joints...

    breaks and dash

There is some wisdom from novanutcase in this thread. I was considering the aftermarket conversion kit but having to install a spacer behind the bearing and looking at the way the conversions were built, decided to look around to see what everyone else did. Even though the conversion on...

    breaks and dash

There is someone on this forum who posted about doing the conversion using 65/66 original disc brakes. He purchased off ebay a set of spindles complete with the calipers and lower control arm assembly. From what I understand the spindles will swap out and work without modification although...

    Holley 4160 Carburetor Question

Two reasons: 1) I already purchased the Holley - which is easy to work on and capable of being tuned. 2) I needed it quickly and no one responded to the question.

    Holley 4160 Carburetor Question

Well I guess we have no carburetor gurus here. I replaced it anyway with a Holley 0-1850s and its running great. The 1850s has a manual choke (which I will be replacing with an electric one as the old one heat operated one was broken) and an extra transmission downshift which I won't be...

    Holley 4160 Carburetor Question

Ok so I have a Holley 4160, 1850-4, 600 CFM carburetor on my '63 bird. When I got the car it hadn't run in about 14 years so I figured the carb would need cleaning. After a can of carburetor cleaner I was able to get the car running pretty good but it is running really rich so I decided to...

    63 power steering noise

Nah its a learning process. It took me about a half hour to figure out how to get the bolts out of the fuel pump and that I had to remove the oil filter to get it out. I'll look at mine today and see how its bolted in there. I know its frustrating looking down in there and not being able to...

62 Tbird vs mustang bullit rims

Did you do the kit? What did it cost you? Did you replace the master cylinder and if so which one did you use? Lastly what size wheels are those? Dude that looks awesome!

    63 power steering noise

In the manual I have it just says: Pump and fluid reservoir removal: 1) With a suction gun, remove as much fluid as possible from the reservoir. 2) Disconnect the 2 hoses at the pump and fasten them in a raised position to prevent fluid from draining out. 3)Loosen and remove the pump belt...

    breaks and dash

Well I'm no expert as this is my first vintage TBird. I'm a Classic Mustang owner but I'll say this, Ford did a lot of things the same way and used a lot of the same parts in multiple cars. I looked in the two manuals I have but was not able to locate a blow up diagram for the dash pad...

    breaks and dash

I want to do the same and here is what I found. Someone said the ones on ebay are junk but the thunderbird ranch sells one for about $600. I was looking at his setup and compared it to the original manual but have yet to get a parts list together. I also found that someone else had done the...

62 Tbird vs mustang bullit rims

Good question because I'm thinking of doing the same with a disc brake swap. New Take Off, Ninosport and a few others are selling Mustang wheels and wheel / tire sets reasonable and I was thinking the fan blade style might look pretty good on my '63. There is a thread here that has a 64 with...

    63 power steering noise

If it makes you feel any better, the power steering pump in my recently acquired '63 is doing the same. I took the reservoir cover off (careful the spring, washer and especially the wing nut - mine fell in and I had to fish it out with my fingers) and noted there is a filter inside. Also I'm...
