    1966 Convertible

True blue blood but we don't alway restore them just for the dollar bottom line. Anyway the question was what do we think it might be worth given the photos. I'd throw $3500 on it and settle for $2500. It's worth at least that much in parts.

    1966 Convertible

I payed $1400 for complete Q code engine and $1200 for the car itself. Mine isn't a convertible but in the condition the top is in I agree that it offsets the value the a convertible would bring given it's present condition. But it is a very nice project car with some cool options and will be...

    Radiator problem???

No I think they are soldered in. To open them you screw them in and to close them you screw them out. You might be able to stop leaking if you can turn it but usually once they start leaking the corrosion prevents them from closing.

    Radiator problem???

Drain Valve Leak? Looks like it's leaking from the drain, the end is smashed causing it to spray, maybe an attempt to make it stop leaking, and the drain is screwed in which I believe means it’s open. It’s early so I haven’t finished my first cup of coffee but I’m pretty sure you screw it out...

    Calibrate Speedometer

You change it by changing the plastic gear on the end of the speedo cable that goes in the transmition tailshaft. I think you can still get them from the dealer.

    this forum suck

Sounds like he’s sexually frustrated with Homophobic insecurities. If he doesn’t like what he gets for free then don’t let the gateway router hit him in the ass as he leaves this server. :cry :smilelol I for one am grateful for all the “Free” information and advice I get from this forum. If I...

    Fluctuating speedometer

Could be speedo or the cable. I've had a bad cable that would cause my gauge to jump like that. The cable would catch the broken half and flip it every revolution. It could also be the plastic gear into the tranny. I'd check the easier stuff before I pulled the dash apart. I haven't had to deal...

    1966 trunk lock

The good from this My wife likes the new lock assembly much better. The cover on the old one had fallen off, the spring was missing, and no where near as "new" looking on the new paint job. Ordered it online from Bird Nest, had it the same week, going to put it on this wekend. Best part is the...

Fuse?? It has its own fuse I haven't look closely at the fuses yet. I had checked them when I was looking into the clock not working but I think I was checking key off because the clock should always have power. I'll doulbe check them too. Thanks.

    1966 trunk lock

No worries $hit happens When I put the latch back on I must have caused it to come loose. It's on in the photos LOL. My wife didn't like the cover anyway it had fallen off because the hing pin was rusted and the spring was gone so I ordered a whole new lock assembly. I've gotten a lot of help...

    1966 trunk lock

Glove box handle trunk opener Unfortunately the vacuum unit pulls on the same piece that the key turns. That was my first thought too. The piece that came off was the little bar that comes off the lock cylinder arm to the latch. There is a clip that holds the bar to the lock arm. the same kind...

    1966 trunk lock

Noooooo.. You'd better double check yours I guess that when I pulled the latch to take the photos I knocked the clip that holds the linkage bar to the lock lever loose. My wife went to the store and when she got home the trunk wouldn't open. The linkage had fallen out. Only thing I could do was...

    Gas Tank Filler Tube

Well that was easy Thank you for all of your input. Came out easier then the book said. The manual says something about removing the top of the shocks. Topped it off and no leaks. 1966 trunk lock

Glad it works. I've lost the spring on mine. I've seen in one of the restoration parts books, can't remeber which at the moment, that they sell the lock cover assembly with the spring. Mine works fine without the spring and I just took some JB and fixed the bar in place for now. I might replace...
