    1963 T-Bird for sale

I had a few people interested on Craig's List but i would prefer to sell to a T-Bird fan. I meanwhile dropped the price to $5500

    1963 T-Bird for sale

I looked around and I think I was asking too much. I think a fair price is $7500.

    1963 T-Bird for sale

I have a 63 T-Bird for sale. Fully restored 3 years ago except for engine (because it runs so great I only rebuilt the carb and installed a new distributor and alternator). Dark blue, 73,000 miles, asking $10,000.

I used Monroe on my 63 and they worked well. I got them at NAPA

    Engine Stalls over speed bumps

I don't have that problem on my '63 T-Bird (and I live on a dirt road), but I did have it with an older GM. The problem was the coil shorting out on the firewall. Would not apply to the FE since the coil is in front.

    Carb gasket watch-out

be careful which gasket you use under your 4-bbl carb, as the one that comes with some rebuild kits is wrong and will cause a vacuum leak. Make sure you only use one that has the 4 individual cut-outs (one for each bbl), not the one with the big square cut0out.

    carb and choke issues

I rebuilt the carb this weekend, set the floats, etc and it is running great. Starts well, rich smell is gone. Seems better on acceleration too. I do hear a louder sucking sound than before from the carb area. Thought it may have been a vacuum leak but I am pulling 17".

newbie with lots of question marks!

I would check Mac's for parts, they have a good selection and good service. On the sagging doors, you have to rebuild the hinges. I did that on my 'Cuda and it was very easy (My T-Bird does not need it). You can buy the whole hinge (expensive!) or just the pins and bushings and do it yourself...

    carb and choke issues

Thanks for the tip about the needle and seat. Makes sense, especially with today's fuels, that it would be time to check/replace them.

    carb and choke issues

Thanks for the reply. I will just have to start it every week, like you said. For some reason even when it starts it is running very rich, so if I find a solution I will post whatever I find.

    carb and choke issues

My 63 has a stock carb (I rebuilt it ~ 4 years ago) except for an electric choke that I installed. I have two problems: 1 that I always had and a new one. Maybe someone can help me. 1. If I start it every day it starts fine. If it sits for a couple of weeks, I need ether. Seems like the fuel is...
