Just in case you're still looking.... The 87-88 Sport did come with the 5.0, NON-HO motor unfortunately, which is rated at 155 hp, and yes, the AOD does suck a lot of that away, but kick up the timing to about 15 degrees, run premium, and you'll be ok..it'll still break the tires loose pretty...

Hey all! I'm looking for a couple things that I can't seem to find locally (Utah). Looking for good driver-side seat and passenger side rear-view mirror. These are for my 88 Sport, so they have to be from a Sport or a TC...sorry, no LX parts! Mirror is power, and the seat is red, but color...

Rebuilding the 5.0 is probably a wise choice...better on fuel....easier on the rest of the drivetrain...easier to work on! Will you be using the original motor or are you swapping in an H.O. motor? I'd spend a few bucks more and go for the H.O. and get some bang for your buck! There's only so...
