Hey 232, thanks for all your help, but just to complicate things a little for you, the T-5 came out of a 2.3 turbo Mustang. Is that going to be the same grade as the T-bird tranny, or the 5.0 grade T-5? Also (I have no idea about flywheels and such), the 289 came with a locked up C-4 tranny...

Isn't the T-5 the same tranny they use in the Mustangs? If it can handle the torque of a HO 302, it should certainly be able to handle a 289, not?

Hey guys, Alright, my brother is tired of working on his 2.3 turbo in his '86 coupe, and he found a 289 V-8 out of '67 Galaxy that's supposed to run good. Does anybody know if this engine will bolt onto his T-5? Are there any other problems that we're gonna need to look out for? Thanks

I would probably do header and exhaust. And I hear that NOS is fun :D
