Hello all, I found a sticker under the hod of my 66 that says "Kar-Kit" Exhaust Emission. It also says that the distributor vacuum advance should be de-activated and timing requirements, etc.. Has anyone seen this before, is it a factory sticker? Thanks

I believe you have a Cruise-O-Matic Transmission. I think some of the later 66 birds and the 428 equipped birds came with the C6 Trans.

Harley, Should this setup have two check valves(one for each vacuum reservior)? Also is the reservior under the fender for the AC and the reservior on the firewall for door locks and trunk release? Thanks, Josh

Thanks Harley, There was once a ground wire on the rag joint but somewhere along the way someone cut it off. I rigged a new ground wire and all is well. Thanks again, Josh

All of my a/c components work fine, however I found a second vacuum can under the right fender. No vacuum line is connected to it it must have been bypassed. I have referrd to a vacuum diagram which shows two lines connecting to it (this can only has one nipple for a vacuum line). Does anyone...

I have one also, I assumed that it was there to keep coolant off the garage floor normally any overflow would just drip onto the ground. But you are right it does not fit in very well and is extremely ugly. Josh

Thanks for the input but I beleive I have figured it out. There are two different patterns stamped into the battery aprons. One is stamped with a T like pattern which the Battery tray fits into and the other is stamped with a shark like pattern. I'm not sure when the change was made but it was...

I'm pretty sure the 66 thunderbird's engine compartment is supposed to match the exterior color but half of the birds that I see have black engine compartments even when the exterior is the original color. Does anyone know why? was it an option? Thanks, Josh

Thanks, but I am really looking for is a temporary solution until I can afford to do it professionally. If I have to remove the dash I might as well wait until it can be done right. So I guess no one makes dash caps for the 64 through 66?
