    power steering Try turning the steering wheel through it's full travel three or four times with the windshield wipers on. This should expel any air in the system.

    pertronix This is a great improvement over the point system Derek. You don't need a dwell meter to set the points and you no longer have a condenser. The installation is about as easy as it gets. Good luck, Joe

    rear vent You may have a leak in the vacuum line to the unit or more likely a bad vacuum motor that opens and closes the vent

    If you follow the instructions that came with the unit it should work just fine. I installed one on my 66 Bird and it works great.

    Windows You probably have striped drive gears. You will have to remove the lifts and replace the gears. There have been many improvements in these gears over the years, the last ones I put in seem to be holding up very well. Many vendors have these gears. Good luck, Joe

    It would seem that you are getting voltage to the starter relay all the time which would indicate a bad ign. switch.

    I think either one will work as long as you have the right master cylinder.

    master cylinder I think you have the wrong master cylinder. The 64 cyliner had a 7/8 bore the 65-66 had a 15/16 inch bore. If I were you I would get the right master and booster. Going to a dual system is quite complex, the original does a good job.

    questions Are you sure the Bird is a 65? If it is it should have front disk brakes. The master cylinder on the 65-66 has a clip on lid --not screw on.

    65 Bird Nice looking Bird but as with any used car it's a good idea to run a compression and a vacuum test on the engine. Joe
