    57 Dash Pad

I was wondering how nomadbird made out with his dash pad, which he installed a year ago. He never posted back to the forum. I was under impression Larry's had them, I was almost ready to order. Thunderbird Center in Michigan shows in their catalog: 800-562-1955

    Adding power steering & brakes

More info: I have dealt with Weatherly Classics in California regarding complete Power steering kits. Ask for Bryan at 714-525-9477. He offers a complete kit in the $1500 range. Regarding brakes: does anyone know of a conversion master cylinder that will give you the split system? I have...

    '57 Transmission Leak

He is correct, although the crusty old experts knew how to remove it without taking the engine out. Pulling the engine out will be safer, better, and easier than finding a crusty old expert.

    57 Instrument Cluster Removal

Also be aware that the latest insert for the Thunderbird Manual (from CTCI) has a nice two page section (with pictures) on rebuilding and reinstalling the dash. Yeah!

    Gas

I had Holley restore and rebuild my carb - but alas, it isn't on the manifold yet. I'll let you know down the road how it handles this problem.

    57 Instrument Cluster Removal

Sorry Tom - was trying to get back to you today, after reading your post last nite. My head was spinning when you said the dash was still in. Just got my dash painted, and brought it home to start rebuilding it last nite, as coincidence would have it. Now comes the tedious task of laying out...

    Master Parts and Illustrations Catalogs

I got it too - forgot to post that I like it! Although I had to go to their website and update the disk for my later version of Access 2000. Very easy to do - good help from their tech desk. That's not to say I wouldn't prefer hard copies, but the CD is the next best thing at $150 less.

    55-57 INFO

Speaking of CTCI, is the new set of Restoration Manual inserts ready to mail yet, has anyone heard (save me the phone call!).

    55-57 INFO

Ditto on that! The knowledge gained from this forum and CTCI has been huge! For instance, you see a picture of a bird for sale, and it is being sold as 100% original, and you see a black painted engine compartment on a red car, and immediately you have lots of questions to ask!

Panel and Floor Pan welding question

Being a weekend welder myself, I prefer a MIG setup. I didn't do the rocker/floor pan welding on my car, but it was all done with a MIG. MIG is easy to learn, "easy" being a very relative term! I bought a Millermatic 135 from my local welding shop, and it has been fabulous, but I also have...
