Vague recollection of seeing such a thing in Mustangs or similar cars, it would be a great idea for a T-bird as you then wouldn't have to grope around down the side of the seat looking for the seat-belt!

So how do you tell if your T-bird has a 9" or a 9 3/8" rear-end? My car is a '66 and it has a posi of some sort.

Sounds like I'm lucky - the spare on my '66 is cross-ply with one red and one white thin sidewall, looks brand new. Shame the rest are wide white-sidewall radials. (but better for actual road use I guess)

Not much activity in THIS thread - and I bet some of the older members must have some sound generic restoration tips etc?

And your 'birds cooling system will thank you in the summer - it no longer has to cool the trans as well thereby giving it a better chance of keeping the engine cool! BTW Jow, STILL trying to email you back!

I just got back in from the workshop, the colors are there alright, only trouble is: I've already run into trouble! The light with the red paint on the holder is the Door Ajar light (the only one that works properly!). BUT the fitting on the Control Panel with red paint is the Emergency Flasher...
