Got an e-mail picture of these relays from Harley and they look NOTHING like mine plus I have THREE relays! Will have another look. And yep, getting your e-mails Joe.

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

The thing is Joe, I've got three relays together in the trunk, which two are for the emergency flasher set-up? To the right of the spare-wheel as you look in the trunk I have two relays, one behind the other and placed longitudinaly, beside the nearest of those two and to its right is another...

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Thanks again guys, you're wizards at figuring out how to fix my problems! :ghug I'd be lost without this forum, that's for sure, there's NOBODY here that has any T-bird experience. PS Joe, last e-mail bounced back -again! :sad

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Flasher Switch Thanks to a very kind Forum member (Thanks Harley!) I now have a functional switch for my Emergency Flasher!!!! Only now I have hooked it up I find that only the drivers side park-light flashes (and the small bulb on the Control Panel). Can anybody tell me why the rear lights...

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Oh, by the way, when fitting a new reproduction Neutral Safety Switch it pays to hook up the four-pin plug to it first and do it carefully, holding the switch pins with a pair of needle-nosed pliers as you push on the plug. I didn't do this and bolted the switch to the column before trying to...

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Joe, it seems like this is the only way to reply to your e-mails - after I tried last time I got this message: " Your message was not delivered because the destination computer was not reachable within the allowed queue period. The amount of time a message is queued before it is returned depends...

    65 FORD THUNDERBIRD

I paid over $6,000 for my '66 Landau, THEN I had to ship it 12,500 miles to New Zealand and THEN I have to shop for the parts I need from parts and restoration dealers in the US. Also some parts I have to send over there as a core part or as in the case of my seat-belt, I had to send it on a...

    Seat belt holders

Vague recollection of seeing such a thing in Mustangs or similar cars, it would be a great idea for a T-bird as you then wouldn't have to grope around down the side of the seat looking for the seat-belt!

Positraction Condition Testing - Ford 9"

So how do you tell if your T-bird has a 9" or a 9 3/8" rear-end? My car is a '66 and it has a posi of some sort.

8.15 x 15 whitewall with red stripe on ebay

Sounds like I'm lucky - the spare on my '66 is cross-ply with one red and one white thin sidewall, looks brand new. Shame the rest are wide white-sidewall radials. (but better for actual road use I guess)

    1966 Town Coupe Hardtop

Not much activity in THIS thread - and I bet some of the older members must have some sound generic restoration tips etc?

    tranny cooler

And your 'birds cooling system will thank you in the summer - it no longer has to cool the trans as well thereby giving it a better chance of keeping the engine cool! BTW Jow, STILL trying to email you back!

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Joe, I get you e-mails and tried e-mailing via the address on your e-mails but keep getting it returned, I'm not sure what goes on !!

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Thanks again Joe, I am mystified as to why the colours don't match up on my car - maybe the metal light fitting on the front of the Safety Control Panel is from another car and had the paint dabs in different locations?? (personally doubt it but who knows?) As far as the seat-belt switch thing...

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

I just got back in from the workshop, the colors are there alright, only trouble is: I've already run into trouble! The light with the red paint on the holder is the Door Ajar light (the only one that works properly!). BUT the fitting on the Control Panel with red paint is the Emergency Flasher...

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Great! I'll have a look at that next time I'm in the workshop! I also have a 'live' terminal there too, I guess it's for the (missing?) switch for the Emergency Flasher??

    Overhead Safety Control Panel HEADACHE!!

Oh-Kay! Now struggling with the above item. Can anybody tell me the colour code for the wiring in the panel?? i.e. which bulb has what colored wires? All the bulb-holders were already pulled out of the Control Panel when I bought the car (unknown to me at the time) so apart from the Door Ajar...

Yet another problem on my '66!!

O.K., I'll check these out. Meantime, next question, - on my overhead Safety Control Panel (which I have currently removed) there are four lights/switches, the Door Ajar light works correctly. (The only one that does!) There is also another light fitting that does not light up normally (i.e. if...

Yet another problem on my '66!!

Yes, they were held by screws to the trunk right beside the right-hand cowl drain hose. See below -each set of colons represents one relay and where it is located relevent to the cowl drain - (represented by the 'O'), the --- is to represent the rubber 'board' with the sequential light...

Yet another problem on my '66!!

I was lucky - somebody had already done that to my 'bird - and also fitted Ignitor pointless ignition!! Didn't stop the problem with the brake relay - and I was scared to 'tinker' too much in case I fried the solid state sequential system.!! Oh, and if anybody wishes to correspond with a New...
