Hey Paul, Don't know if this applies in Illinois, but when we tried to get those kind of plates on our 73 T-bird, it meant that we would only be able to drive it to car shows, cruise-ins, and the like. With them, we wouldn't be able to legally just drive it around town! Jim

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I have not been able to find out anything except that TL's weigh about 4,250 lbs minus driver. I assume they all weigh this much because that is how much mine weighs. Jim

I would like to maybe move up to higher reared gears, and all I want to know is what you guys would reccomend. I have heard that the 3spd. 77 to 79 Thunderbirds really respond well to a set of 3.73s. I am unsure of the current gears, but I assume they are 2.75s, or some other highway gear...
