    66' Interior

65blubird. Are these 64/65 door panels or 66? If 66, don't bother as I see they are different.

    66' Interior

Does Jagman have the panels? Not sure what shade parchment is. If sort of off white I can use them. Can you send pictures?

    sequential turn signals.

Some strange electrical thing can happen with these cars when battery is underpowered. Next place to check is the relay in the trunk. Do you have the original or have you switched to electronic?

mark the distributor and block when you remove it. Maybe before doing that , check your cylinder compression. All the sludge and burnt oil could mean the rings or cylinders are shot or valves no longer seating correctly. If so, may think of pulling and getting rebuilt. Some guys on this site...

From what you have written it sounds like quite a mess. It will be hard to clean without making your engine bay and engine parts a mess. Once you get into the job with the engine in place you will see what we are talking about. If uncomfortable removing engine, do the best you can and take...

    vacuum door locks

When I got my 65 the door locks did not work but when I toogled the switch I did hear a noise. I needed to drop the compartment in the dash to replace the speaker anyway. I had any easy fix on the door locks as all I needed to do was connect the hoses to the actuator.

it is pretty straight forward and one of the easier thins to remove. The secret is in replacing and torqing bolts evenly. Do not over tighten, this includes valve covers. Make sure pan and covers are straight. Gaskets should be available at local store.

    fuel pump

Thanks for the reply. I tried loosening it on the bench with a large size channel lock pliers I have but it was on pretty tight. I believe I have the strap type in a drawer in garage somewhere. Good news is I shouldn't have to mess with it for a while.

    fuel pump

New fuel pump has the filter on the bottom of it. Currently have the plastic fuel filter up by the carburetor. Any damage in leaving it there? Also is there any particular size spanner wrench for the fuel filter or should I just get adjustable?

I don't know if you want to run the car too much more until you pull the pan, pop off the covers, and follow boater bob's suggestion. Definitely have some sort of oil problem. If you already ran it for 45 mins you dont want to push your luck.

    fuel pump

After hours of trying to get this in...I put the gasket on the pump rather than the block. This helped to hold the bolts in place so that I could get them started. Used a socket with extension under the car to get stared. Finished from the top with 9/16 swivel socket and ratchet
