and "casey" is the tech. who performs this special service.. Service scheduleing person at front desk will let you talk to casey if you insist kindly..tell him that robert 's 1958 bird was done here or the owner also will help you get him on the line before you trust them to repair your simular problem. So.. apparently he removes the steering wheel , signal selector arm , signal device mechanism connected to it , (two screws holding the slide for the reversing un- latching selected direction piece "PLATE". and then goes further to top of columb and removes the worn sloppy problem part and makes it new ,then replaces the whole thing in reverse order. I ONLY FOUND THE (BOTTOM) OF THE TOP AND BOTTOM INVOLVED( TWO SCREWS) THAT HOLD THE SIGNAL SLIDER...MISSING... AND QUICKLY INSTALLED A COMMOM (TOGGLE SWITCH SCREW) INTO THE PROPER HOLE THREAD MATCHED CORRECT LENTH AS WELL CHECKED FOR CLEARANCE AND ALL IS WELL)....IT MUST HAVE BEEN (OVERLOOKED AT RE-INSTALL)... SO I DID'NT BOTHER THE TECH WITH THE MENDING OF THAT BY MYSELF AS WARRANTY MIGHT BE AN ISSUE FOR TAMPERING ETC. ETC.ALSO NOTE : pat wilsons t birds has your throttle kick down (tighter tolerance intake area mounted holding swivel bracket at) 1 888 262 1153 and get that sent to your home first as the trans. shop insisted in "tolerance" to be as (when designer of all involved) was new to be( close) for professional completion of trouble free safe shift/ kick down specs. sorry I left out those facts ,trying to save you the surprise.
