4.6 Hydrolocked; bent rod; engine swap?
My daughter drove her 96TB through a very large puddle and hydrolocked her engine and bent a rod or something. What a racket. Engine will run but it is not drivable. It will tear itself apart soon.
I am contemplating an engine swap ($650 used plus misc. parts). I studied the manual and spent some time under the car on stands in my garage. It looks like an impossible job without car a lift. I don’t see how I can get to the engine bolts from the trans and most everything else is so tight. I this doable? Should I junk the car?

the job is doable, have you looked to see if you can get to the bolts from the top? If you were closer I would lend a hand. good luck
