Sweet rescue! I think that Birdie may look pretty cool as a Rat Rod (GASP). Give us more pics, we love our pics! Do you have any idea how rare that rear bumper and light assembly is in that condition (And original!).

'57 Project
Clean Texas car - going through a basic resurrection. Has been sitting for years. Plans are for engine/trans rebuild, suspension and steering refresh, disc brakes, and modern a/c compressor. Interior will be limited to new carpet, and exterior will stay as-is for now. 312 is already rebuilt and will start on the rest within the next month.
Has been cleaned up since these photos were taken and it looks much nicer already. Goal is to preserve this car as a survivor and drive it - and any mods will be for safety and reliability. |

Hi,
New to this forum, I inherited a 57 that has been sitting in my aunt's garage for 35-40 years. It is the very car that I drove when I was 17 (now I'm 60) I can't wait to get it in runing order! Car is now @ Mongillo Motors in New Haven, CT to get it running. |

This is the day we brought her home
Sundust Beige, Parchment Leather, Palomino. The only options it doesn’t have is cruse control and stereo. She belonged to a lady in the Bay area. When she passed away the estate decided to have the engine rebuilt. She only put 83,000 mi on it. It still had the original FoMoCo front wheel seals and shocks. A friend of mine had bought it and on his way home it started knocking. He drove it home that way puking oil out the rear. Spun the mains and cracked the block from the mains to the cams. He was so mad he was going to scrap the car so I gave him scrap value for it. I found a donor engine in Washington and only used the core (Block, Crank, & Rods) the rest is either original or new. A few engine shots as I was rebuilding it Last edited by Darrellinceres; 08-10-2010 at 02:34 PM. |

The battery had Popped some point in it's life and had splattered rust all over the engine compartment so I repainted the engine compartment I’m keeping it the original color Sundust Beige
The finished engine going back into its home. Every external part was bead blasted and my wife repainted them My wife is quite the shutter bug and I must have hundreds of pictures. If there is any imgages that you'd like to see more of let me know. The album is at photobucket with more pictures at 66 T-Bird Town Hardtop California 428 Restoration pictures by DarrellinCeres - Photobucket Hope you like them, Darrell |

Here's my 1977 Bird
Its got the 400m, dual exhaust, white leather seats with green dash and carpet. Unfortunatly the body is rotted beyond repair. I got a decent 78 which will get the interior from the 77. I will also rebuild the 77 motor and trans to go in it along with some go fast goodies. |

Pretty much everywhere that had trim on it or the rubberized rust proofer(I know right). The bottom half of the doors and front fenders as well as most of the back floor and trunk and the rear bumper was pretty well gone where it mounts to the body, it had like 3 bolts holding it on. It sat in an old garage that eventaully collapsed on it for about 7 years after my grandpa died.

I just picked up my first Bird. Since this will be something like the 85th car I've owned it's about time...
It's a 1973 with a 429. Beautiful interior, only shows wear on the passenger seat. Clearcoat is dry and flaky, but rust free and straight.

Since I got this bird I have wanted the stock spinner caps, but just couldn't pay the prices they were geting for these caps.
I finally got four that are in excellent shape, and the price was unbeliveable compared to what they are getting for them on ebay. Bob.
