valve cover gasket

I purchased some valve cover gasket from the local Autozone. They have a little tab one the outside of the gasket. Do these tabs line up on the valve cover, stick out, or are they cut off? Havent taken the leaky ones off yet.

After I got home and looked at it I realized what a stupid question this was. Just concerned when some kid at a counter hands me something. Tabs fit in notches in valve cover, now hopefully 1 or 2 leaks taken care of. Old gaskets were baked and the pcv valve grommet was like a hard piece of plastic.
