Electronic Ignition

I still have the generator on my Bird (390) Does anyone know if I can change it to electronic ignition or do I have to change it to an alternator first ??

Works fine with a generator from what I have heard. My friend has a 57 tbird with generator and Pertronix ignition.

Give it a go, works well.

I bought Pertronics and a Flame Thrower coil based on what you told me and some other research

I installed the Pertronix and the 40,000 1.5 ohm coil I immediately felt an increase in power.
WORKS GREAT ! Easy install !
