You can use a vacuum gauge at the inlet to the fuel pump. You should get a vacuum reading, indicating that the fuel pump is working. You can use compressed air blowing backward toward the tank in case the line is plugged. If it's not plugged, you'll hear air at the gas cap on the rear fender.
