Greetings, my name is Andy, I just bought a 1960 project Tbird. I have not taken delivery of it even. I was at a car show last night and saw it on a trailer for sale.

No engine but everything else was stuffed in it. Rust of course but not a total bucket. Patch panel type repairs.

They only wanted $690. so I offered $600. and hes willing to deliver. Always wanted a squarebird, they are my favorite TBird.

Will I get creamed on this list if I mondernize it underneath where it doesnt show. I can get my hands on a nice 302 for power and I might want to upgrade the suspension since this will be a total rebuild.

Creamed? of course not. I love the squarebirds. It is a heavy car so do you think the 302 will be enough? You should have no trouble finding a 390 for the car if you look for one. Post us some pictures for us so we can see what your getting yourself into.

good luck with your project. And get us posted on your progress please.

I could do that, I'll send pics as soon as It arrives, looking forward to the project. I figure this will be better to start with a completely torn down bird than getting one someone patched with bondo, only to have to strip it later.

I know this post is old, and hopefully you still check in every now and then. I also think a 390 would be a better engine choice than the 302. I restored a 1960 T-Bird for my father. It has the original 352 with the Cruise-O-Matic trans and it is pretty much of a dog, power wise. It is a very heavy car. Beautiful car and still fun to drive, but it won' t be winning any races. I wish my Grandfather had ordered the 430 instead. We'd still like to see some pictures of you project also. Good luck.
