Safety!!!
Had a potential catastrophe in my '66!
I re-fitted the vacuum hose that runs from the manifold to the booster. (I had taken it off to work on the steel brake lines at the master cylinder).
I hooked it back up and took the car out on the road, unbeknown to me I had run the hose behind the throttle linkage and when I put my foot on the gas pedal the linkage pulled the hose off the manifold.
RESULT? I went to stop and almost had to use both feet on the brake pedal, scarey as anything!!
REASON? No vacuum to the brake booster and the loss of vacuum made the engine run extra fast.
So be very carefull out there about where you run the vacumm hose.n
