SCUMDOG is on a distinguished road
Thanks for the advice guys.
I went out to the garage and pulled up the rear seat a little amd using a mirror I noticed the locating lugs on the bottom of the seat.

I then heaved upwards, man that sucker was TIGHT but it came loose in the end, once I had it out I realise two things:
(a)The rear arm-rest panel would probably not have to come out.
and
(b) I could now see the bolts that hold the seat back in place!!

BTW The alloy panels on the front-seat backs have small scratches on them, I wondered how they got there, looking at things I would guess it was caused by somebody taking the rear seat out and sliding it up the back of the folded forwards front-seat backs.
