Just wanted to say HI. I own 5 vintage Mustangs and have decided to buy a 64-66 Tbird soon.

What do I need to look out for on these cars? At first when I buy the car it will have to sit outside and be water tight. Are there known issues about common spots that leak? I really want a 66 428 (I have a couple 390 Mustangs). Are there a bunch of parts dealers like there are for Mustangs?

anything else you guys could give me a heads up on would be much appreciated.

First, you should know that the 1964 Thunderbird has drum brakes all around. The 1965/66 have front disc brakes, rear drum. Also the 1965/55 have the sequential turn signals, a unique feature. Water leaks may occur in the front cowl area and in the trunk due to the flow through ventilation. Choosing a 1966 is a smart move, in my estimation. Good luck and stay in touch.
