My two 1970s had a typical flasher under the dash but i know they are a diferent set up. If there is a round flasher unit then my cd-rom shop manual peice of crap fails to mention it.

Hi Alan! In my '67 there is a redundant system with a flasher under the dash that doesn't affect the operation of the flashers (weird) it clicks sometimes when the signals are activated, but when it stops the sequential units AND the front blinkers keep going as normal. I don't know exactly where it is, but I can hear it... it's not on the fuse block like normal cars. Something you might want to check is the turn signal switch...if it has a short the signals will have power with the key off.
Good luck!
