Finally got around to figuring it out. I pulled the two seat frame bolts from the floor of the driver's side, put the seat at its full up height, and using a small block of wood lifted the driver's side seat frame about three inches. Finally there was enough room to get at the motor end pin from the passenger side of the car, right next to the tranny tunnel (easy). The rear worm gear pin has to be removed from the back of the driver's side, reaching under the seat. Finally unsnap the 4 wires to the motor from the front, and remove it. In my case the braided wire to one of the motor brushes had come unsoldered. Easy fix. Hope this helps someone out.
