Concluded I was just sold garbage steel freeze plugs with no galvanizing made in who-knows-where . I keep 2 gallons of Anti Freeze in the radiators even here in Daytona just for the rust protection of the water jackets. Have found 1 gallon just provided minimal rust protection.
