I went through this recently. Replaced upper/lower bushings along with the shift lever and the detent plate. To get to the detent place you have to wedge your way in there after removing all of the bolts, etc. I only had about a 1/4 to 3/8" opening in which to work and I felt like I was doing microsurgery. Search the old thread here, I think someone detailed the process pretty well.
