Hey Gearworks,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I’ve been busy as heck working on my power steering.( I had a major leak and tried fixing it). I bought a kit for it and rebuilt it, $35. I must have done something wrong because It was awfully tight. So I opened it one more time to find the 2nd nut on the worm-shaft was a little tight and loosened it and slapped it together one more time. The Power part of the steering wasn’t working so I replaced the pump thinking that it might be bad $58, thank god it was. But it didn’t fix the problem. So I got a used on from the wrecking lot, for $60. The book said $175, but the guy working there new I was a regular, and changed the price. Slapped it together and it fixed the problem. I believe something was missing, because I do know it was worked on before. A friend who’s worked on fords for ever, came to my place and adjusted the carburetor, he said the way you stated was a very good way. But he adjusted it before I told him about your way. He said he did a good job and if he was off at all it wasn’t much! Thanks though.
Jeremy
