Sounds good to me, but in place of the 4-speed, you may want to consider having a C6 re-geared with a 3.00 first, 1.5 second and a .8 third. I had one built for a 1970 Cyclone Spoiler I owned, and loved the feeling of it, but never justified it on a dragstrip with time-slips. Reason I did it was that the kind of clutch I needed gets mighty heavy in traffic. I understand now there is a new kind of clutch technology that gives lots of grab without cramping your leg. I will gladly defer to Gearworks on this subject as I value his opinion. Just something to ponder.
As far as parts go, I could use 2 decent used bumpers for my '79 Bird. I can not get used to the fact that it costs 300.00 to have a bumper chromed these days and wish very much to avoid that expense. They can't have any dents or rust and must be the deluxe bumper with holes in it for the rub strips. If you have any, let me know what you need for dollars. Good luck on your worthy project! Charles
