sounds like a blown headgasket. and as far as the wiring problem, it sounds liek to me the ignition switch is faulty. now im not referring to the key switch. im talking about the switch mounted on the top of the column under the dash. theres a rod that goes from the key switch, down the top of the column to the main switch, (easiest way to find it) this switch switch is responsible for switching between all the different circuits in the car that "wont work without the key in a certain position"
usually the switch contacts burn or bend and the switch becomes "locked" between circuits, thereby making it impossible to turn it off.
