Headlight orientation
My recently purchased bird needed a low beam headlight replaced. When i removed the old one i noticed that some retaining ring holding tabs were not fully seated. This was due to the bulb not properly orientated in the base so all 3 alignment bosses on the bulb were in the appropriate slot on the bulb base. In order to get all three bulb bosses to align with their respective slots on the bulb base the bulb orientation if off by 90 degrees so that the bulb manufactures name is not read left to right, but south to north. The new bulbs fit the same way and both low beams have this phenomenon. The metal base the bulb mounts to can only be installed one way.
My first question is "Is this how the low beam bulbs mount in a 64 Tbird"? I have never seen it his way on any car and i don't believe this is right since it throws the beam off.
If this is not how it should be "has anyone ran into this before"?
Thanks, Steve
