a/c help
Hi new to this form so I hope this works. I have a 64 bird that has been put away for 20 years. The last thing I have to get working is the a/c. The system was emty when I got the car. Had someone look at it and we pressurized the system with nitrogen to 100 lbs. No leaks and the sytem equilazed. (so far so good) Bought a new dryer and installed it. Filled system with 2 1/2 lbs of R12 and turned on a/c in dash. Compressor cuts in and works well. BUT no cold air, all vents and doors working. Looked in sight glass and see it is half full of liquid and not moving very fast. Added more R12 about 1/2 lb. Now when I start the a/c the sight glass fills with liquid and you can see fine bubbles moving fairily fast for the first 2 to 3 min. then you can see liquid again and it stops moving. Little to no cold air. I think the system should be charged to 2 1/2 lbs. Any help??
